In my early twenties I joined a tribe of artists who lived in an old run down studio space with no heat. Over the years these artists would become my chosen family. Money was scarce for my artist family so every trash day we would indulge in an evening of dumpster diving to collect found objects for the sake of art. It was during this time that I first learned to see. Until then I had merely walked around and taken no notice to the textures of our everyday experience.

We cherish the ancient artifacts that civilizations before us took for granted. What of the modern day objects that hold sharp angles, soft curves and delicious textures?

My work is devoted to the relics that we shuffle off into the junk drawer and trash can. The evidence of our existance, the objects of everyday, the "art" not labeled as "art". The beauty was there all along. I hope that you enjoy the artifactual creations as much as I do. Their production is a ritual of appreciation for the found object artists who have corrected my sight, and for the found objects themselves.
